Why I'm not going to use barcodes

Regarding a barcode, I don't plan on using these on my front covers as it doesn't fit with the conventions of a high brow fashion magazine. Although they can be found on some front covers, they are generally on the back, therefore I have decided I will not include them as I do not want to detract from the other more important features of the covers.
